Our History

Progressive Computer Services was founded and licensed in October of 1993 by Claude Asuncion as a Sole Proprietorship while pursuing his undergraduate education for the purpose of providing computer maintenance and repair services to assist his educational financial obligations. PCS had started as part-time “garage” operation, and their customer base was from friends, family and referrals. In time, computer technology accelerated, college was over, and the company grew slowly but steadily to where it is today.

On November 22, 1995, Progressive Computer Services, Inc. (PCS) was incorporated by shareholders Claude B. Asuncion and Jimmy D. Balawitan, Jr. for the purpose of operating computer retail, service, computer networks and software design. PCS services include repairs, upgrades, networking design and integration. Other services include configuring CISCO routers, switches with Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) and Category 5 to 6 cabling services. The company was formed to assist people and firms with their computing needs, seek more knowledge about hardware and generate revenue at the same time. In the beginning, PCS was a computer repair shop only.

Today, PCS is able to build computers from scratch, design and integrate complex networking. In addition, PCS had grown out the garage operation to three locations on Oahu, Hawaii. Two locations are located at the Military installations and one is a centralize location located near Aloha Stadium. In 2004, PCS had been accepted in the SBA 8(a) and Small Disadvantage Program. This program has duration of nine years. In 2006, PCS had acquired a contract through AAFES to operate a computer repair and retail stores at Schofield Barracks and Hickam Air Force base. On 2007, PCS had been accepted in the SBA Hubzone certified business program. In these programs, PCS had acquired contracts from DISA-Pacific, SPAWAR, and Kaneohe Marine Base. These contracts included furnishing IT and Telecom products.
